I can hand format your ebook for Mobipocket and ePub for a small fee. High quality formatting better than most I've seen anywhere, including for sale. I may do a free conversion if the book is being given away for free.

Are you looking for new books to read and new authors to discover? You've come to the right place!

This blog will list websites LEGALLY distributing free ebooks, mostly novel length fiction. Each site will have a blog entry so you can sign up for the rss feed and be notified of new additions. (How to get the feed on a handheld reader.)

I want to support independent authors, I'm especially interested in linking to them. I will add individual author sites and multi-author sites (if they offer something different from the ones already listed) distributing free ebooks legally. I will also add time limited promotional give aways. Please send an email if you want to submit a site or an update. Completed novels only.

I am not very good at determining genres, so if you want to suggest some for particular authors, please do! And don't strictly count on my genre labels, look around at all the authors listed.

Also check out the LIMITED TIME OFFERS label. These are generally promotional offers from booksellers (but not always). Books with this category have no other categories so they won't come up in any other category searches. They may or may not still be free when you are here.

Your comments are welcome and encouraged, thanks for visiting!

Another One For ChiZine Publications

This is the last one I'm formatting into epub and mobipocket for ChiZine Publications until about February, or so I've been told.

Objects of Worship by Claude Lalumiere
This anthology has more sexy stories than the others I've done for ChiZine, and I enjoyed reading it. The linked page has the book description, reviews, table of contents, links to interviews, links to read two stories for free, and links to buy the ebook or paperback editions. eBook file types are pdf, epub, and mobi.
Twelve strange, eerie, sensual stories by a bold new voice in weird fiction. Capricious gods rule a world of women. Zombies breed human cattle. The son of a superhero must decide between his heritage and his religion. Young lovers worship a primordial spider god. The apocalyptic rebirth of the god of the elephants. Monstrous chimeras roam through a devastated future Earth. A retired fisherman caught in the middle of a conflict between gods and superheroes. Teenagers struggle to survive a surreal ice age . . .

This volume also contains interior illustrations by Rupert Bottenberg (Claude's Lost Myths collaborator) with an introduction by World Fantasy Award-winning author James Morrow and an afterword by the author.

Three Free eNovels

Unpublished Novels by Loyd Fueston

The Hermit of Turkey Hill
This whole novel is free even though it says "Sample chapters may be downloaded at The Hermit of Turkey Hill".
The Hermit of Turkey Hill is a story based upon a friendship, of sorts, that my grandfather — Charlie Milroy — had with a man who was the gentler sort of sociopath. The man lived in Ludlow for 35 years or so and spoke so few words that people weren’t sure where he was from. I changed the name of the town, changed the name of the police chief — my grandfather, and made up a number of characters and little events to flesh out the few facts I knew about this story. Those few facts were the important ones, but good narratives are not made up of only the important events. The little details, which may be in the background, are necessary to make the narrative concrete.

A Man For Every Purpose
A Man For Every Purpose is a tale of a man who fragments when he is not able to deal with some of the problems in his life. It is told from the point of view of that character. One of my motivations in writing this tale is to show that true and moral fantasy has more to do with human perceptions than with magical events. Nothing impossible occurs in this novel but the telling of the possible events twists them and colors them in strange ways.

Corporate Sex
Corporate Sex was named Unleashed Desires when I submitted it to publishers and agents about five years ago. It is about the mating rituals and forms of reproduction that take place in the New York City financial districts.
File type: pdf.

So begins the story of Jessilyn Lassiter, a young girl whose world is torn apart the summer of 1932. It doesn’t take long for the Lassiters to attract the attention of a local band of Ku Klux Klan members, who make increasingly violent threats on Jessilyn and her family.

As she struggles to navigate a complex world of first crushes, loyalties, and betrayals, Jessilyn ultimately discovers what it takes to be a bright light in a dark world.

To her surprise, the night not only involves silk scarves and a set of handcuffs, but one tall dark cowboy.

Ryan Tyler has never thought twice about sharing his women with his best friend -- until Ryan touches Angie. She stirs something deep inside him. But it's too late to stop the decadent night from unfolding. What starts as hot sex with a warm, willing woman turns into something more. After tonight, Ryan knows he'll never be satisfied with just one taste.

Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language, menage-a-trois.

Monstrous Affections by David Nickle
I love this book's cover - it's disturbing because it's almost normal, isn't that always the creepiest? This pdf is 296 pages, the epub is 219. A young bride and her future mother-in-law risk everything to escape it. A repentant father summons help from a pot of tar to ensure it. A starving woman learns from howling winds and a whispering host, just how fulfilling it can finally be.
Can it be love?

Bram Stoker Award-winning author David Nickle takes multiple stabs at the question in his first collection of short fiction, Monstrous Affections. Three stories are published here for the first time. Others have appeared in places like Cemetery Dance, The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror, Queer Fear 2, and the Northern Frights series.

A Kiss of Shadows by Laurell K. Hamilton

Meredith Gentry, Princess of the high court of Faerie, is posing as a human in Los Angeles, living as a P.I. specializing in supernatural crime. But now the Queen's assassin has been dispatched to fetch her back-whether she likes it or not. Suddenly Meredith finds herself a pawn in her dreaded aunt's plans. Trading in Danger by Elizabeth Moon
Kylara Vatta is the only daughter in a family full of sons, and her father's only child to buck tradition by choosing a military career instead of joining the family business. For Ky, it's no contest: Even running the prestigious Vatta Transport Ltd. shipping concern can't hold a candle to shipping out as an officer aboard an interstellar cruiser. It's adventure, not commerce, that stirs her soul. And despite her family's misgivings, there can be no doubt that a Vatta in the service will prove a valuable asset. But with a single error in judgment, it all comes crumbling down.

Expelled from the Academy in disgrace-and returning home to her humiliated family, a storm of high-profile media coverage, and the gaping void of her own future-Ky is ready to face the inevitable onslaught of anger, disappointment, even pity. But soon after opportunity's door slams shut, Ky finds herself with a ticket to ride- and a shot at redemption-as captain of a Vatta Transport ship.

It's a simple assignment: escorting one of the Vatta fleet's oldest ships on its final voyage . . . to the scrapyard. But keeping it simple has never been Ky's style. And even though her father has provided a crew of seasoned veterans to baby-sit the fledgling captain on her maiden milk run, they can't stop Ky from turning the routine mission into a risky venture-in the name of turning a profit for Vatta Transport, of course.

By snapping up a lucrative delivery contract defaulted on by a rival company, and using part of the proceeds to upgrade her condemned vehicle, Ky aims to prove she's got more going for her than just her family's famous name. But business will soon have to take a backseat to bravery, when Ky's change of plans sails her and the crew straight into the middle of a colonial war. For all her commercial savvy, it's her military training and born-soldier's instincts that Ky will need to call on in the face of deadly combat, dangerous mercenaries, and violent mutiny...

The Best of Robert E. Howard, Volume 1: Crimson Shadows by Robert E. Howard
Robert E. Howard is one of the most famous and influential pulp authors of the twentieth century. Though largely known as the man who invented the sword-and-sorcery genre-and for his iconic hero Conan the Cimmerian-Howard also wrote horror tales, desert adventures, detective yarns, epic poetry, and more. This spectacular volume, gorgeously illustrated by Jim and Ruth Keegan, includes some of his best and most popular works.

Inside, readers will discover (or rediscover) such gems as "The Shadow Kingdom," featuring Kull of Atlantis and considered by many to be the first sword-and-sorcery story; "The Fightin'est Pair," part of one of Howard's most successful series, chronicling the travails of Steve Costigan, a merchant seaman with fists of steel and a head of wood; "The Grey God Passes," a haunting tale about the passing of an age, told against the backdrop of Irish history and legend; "Worms of the Earth," a brooding narrative featuring Bran Mak Morn, about which H. P. Lovecraft said, "Few readers will ever forget the hideous and compelling power of [this] macabre masterpiece"; a historical poem relating a momentous battle between Cimbri and the legions of Rome; and "Sharp's Gun Serenade," one of the last and funniest of the Breckinridge Elkins tales.

These thrilling, eerie, compelling, swashbuckling stories and poems have been restored to their original form, presented just as the author intended. There is little doubt that after more than seven decades the voice of Robert E. Howard continues to resonate with readers around the world.
